Well, our family spent a wonderful week in Florida last week enjoying the beginning of summer…the reason for no updates!
Highlights: the beach, no school, the ice cream truck in the afternoon, searching for unbroken shells…and tons of fun pictures of it all (to follow in a later post!). The craziest part? Twelve hours in the car with all four kids each way! Thankfully, Gage felt great the entire time (unlike last year at the beach), and we had no unexpected medical issues. A huge praise.
And, after a day back, we headed to Children’s this morning for the visit we do every 12 weeks: finger poke to check blood counts, visit with the doctor, breathing treatment (to protect Gage from a type of pneumonia that immune-suppressed people are vulnerable to), chemo in his port, chemo in his spinal fluid via a spinal tap…and then begin a week of twice-daily steroids, in addition to his usual nightly chemo.
Needless to say, we’re all pretty exhausted from both the fun things, like Florida, and the not-fun things, like a very long day at clinic…and a hard week to come on steroids.
Thanks for checking in, and please remember us in your prayers this week.
Also, we’ve loved seeing the responses come in to our June 20th event…hope you can join us!!

yeah!!!! Still praying for you guys.
anxiously awaiting pictures! glad you all are back!
So sorry that I will not be able to make June 20th. I am going to be in NY with my family.
Praying for strength in the week ahead and that Gage would respond well to the treatment. Praying that Gage has a cheerful attitude and is able to enjoy spending time with his sisters this summer.

So glad you all were able to get away to the beach! Praying for you all this week – especially for Gage as he manages another hard week on steroids.
Love and miss you,
Lisa
Praying continuely for your sweet family! I am so happy the entire family was able to enjoy a peaceful week in Florida with safe travels, truly a Blessing! Thanks goodness for fun relaxing times together! Praying last week wasn’t to harsh for little Gage.
Good news with Laurren- scans revealed there is no change from last scan so she will be able to continue with the research/study drug.
Big Granny is doing very well from her surgery last Wednesday and the pathology reports revealed the lymph nodes taken were “NEGATIVE”. We give God the Praise for his continued Grace! We are a Blessed Family! We all needed some GOOD NEWS! I feel your pain so much with clinic days, pokes, etc. Often times we all grow weary but God picks us up and shows much LOVE and HOPE just at the exact time we need it…
Have a great week this week! Hopefully there will be no set backs just lots of fun and play time for the kiddos and of course mom and dad. Looking forward to seeing all of the great pics from Florida.
Take care,
Rhonda (Laurren’s Aunt)
